The world needs to “be more green”, which doesn’t mean “be boring”, like so many people think. How can it be boring, when we are able do our shopping in exciting bags like these, instead of the uncreative, ugly and environmentally unfriendly plastic store bag. Here in France, we don’t receive plastic bags at the counter, but can buy a “green” bag for a few centimes and it can be used again and again. At some stores your old worn out bag can be exchanged for a new one. If you find the bag at the store isn’t colourful enough for you, walk just around the corner and you can pick and choose bags to you heart’s delight….found anywhere and everywhere. Baskets, funky bags, sturdy bags, recycled bags, fabric bags, cheap bags, expensive bags, bags on wheels.
Buy a bag and have fun shopping. Buy a bag and be a funky shopper. Buy a bag and save our planet from destructive plastic.

Lovely! Costco sells some re-usable bags here which are quite nice, but not as beautiful as this.

these are beautiful ronnell, i did some reusable bags too out of flour sacks before. you see two years ago i organized a group of jobless dressmaker in the shanty town of cavite (in philippines during my vacation there). and we started collecting flour sacks from bakeshops and made some environmental friendly bags.. i think its really high time people should be involve and think of our environment.

I read you post the other night, and today I visited one of my fav shops. They have just received a shipment of shopping bags from Morocco, woven from grass, smelling delicious, and just like the last one on the line in the last pic. I recognised them immediately and bought two.

They are lovely.. I carry them with me too for shopping… they are much more stronger than plastic bags and more beautiful.. ur right.. these baggies can be funky!!! I think I have to find some funky colors too.. I only got brown and black 🙂
